How to care for Hommey Linen?Updated 14 days ago

How should I wash my Hommey linen?

To preserve the natural softness and longevity of your linen, machine wash on a warm, gentle cycle using a mild liquid detergent. Wash light and dark colours separately to avoid colour transfer.

Avoid bleach, harsh chemicals, and fabric softeners, as these can damage or coat the natural fibres over time.

How should I dry my Hommey Linen?

We recommend avoiding tumble drying and dry cleaning. High heat can weaken the fibres and alter the natural texture of the linen.

For best results, air-dry your linen flat or on a line in a shaded area away from direct sunlight to help prevent fading.

Should I soak my linen bedding?

We don’t recommend soaking your linen bedding, as it can weaken the natural fibres. For the best results, follow the care tips listed above to keep your linen fresh and long-lasting.

What detergent should I use?

Use a mild, liquid detergent that is free from bleach, optical brighteners, and harsh chemicals. Gentle formulations help maintain the softness, texture, and colour of your linen.

How can I soften my Hommey Linen?

Our linen is crafted from 100% European flax and naturally softens with every wash. There’s no need for fabric softeners - regular use and gentle care will gradually soften its feel and drape.

For best results, wash on a warm, gentle cycle with mild detergent, and air-dry.  Over time, the linen will develop a relaxed softness that reflects its natural character.

How do I treat stains on linen?

Act quickly - treat stains as soon as possible for best results! Gently blot (don’t rub) with a clean, damp cloth to lift excess residue. Use a mild, enzyme-free stain remover or a small amount of diluted detergent directly on the stain.

Wash as usual on a warm, gentle cycle and hang flat on the line to dry.  Avoid bleach or harsh scrubbing, as this can damage the fibres.
